Margit M. Hicks, P.A. Attorneys at Law was founded in 2001 with the vision of
providing valuable legal services to those in need. Our passion is to help families in times of distress, protect their rights and help them to start their lives over after the divorce process. Our family lawyers are able to do this on a daily basis because of our invaluable staff and our efforts as a team.
Meet our Team
Courtney M. Davis, Paralegal
Courtney was born and raised in Cascade, Virginia, the oldest of five children whose parents are still happily married after five decades. After graduating from Tunstall High School in Dry Fork, Virginia, she entered the United States Army and served for eight years. She is a veteran of Operation Desert Storm.
After serving her country, Courtney then graduated from Chattahoochee Valley Community College in Phenix City, Alabama with an Associate’s in Applied Science in Criminal Justice and from Troy State University, Troy, Alabama with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice.
She has over twenty-five years of administrative legal assistance experience to include the District Attorney's Office and the United States Attorney's Office, both in Columbus, GA. She joined the law office of Margit M. Hicks, P.A. Attorneys at Law in 2005.
She is an active member of Manna Church since 2011 and she supports her church and community programs. Courtney has been married for thirty years and has three children and one grandchild who keep her young at heart.
Nancy L. Edwards, Legal Assistant
Nancy is originally from Syracuse, New York. She graduated from SUNY at Oswego in 1993 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. In, 1998 she completed the ABA Certified Legal Assistance studies program at Syracuse University. Her legal work experience has been in the fields of family law and medical malpractice in Phenix City, Alabama and personal injury in Pensacola, Florida. She joined the legal team of Margit M. Hicks, PA in July 2015.
She has been married twenty-six years to a soldier in the Active Guard Reserve and has moved around many times in the last twenty-one years before returning to Fayetteville.
She enjoys spending her free time traveling with her husband throughout North Carolina experiencing different cuisine and seeing what the state has to offer. She has two daughters; one who is a graduate of Auburn University and currently a dental student at University of Kentucky and the other is senior at North Carolina State University.
Crystal S. Brown, Billing Department Manager
Crystal was born and raised in Fayetteville and attended Southview High School. She earned her paralegal degree from Fayetteville Technical Community College and began working with Blackwell, Luedeke& Hicks in 1996. She followed Margit Hicks to Margit M. Hicks, PA in 2001 and was essential to the founding of the law firm.
While employed with Margit M. Hicks, P.A. Attorneys at Law, she attended Nursing School at Sampson Community College and received her Associate’s Degree in Nursing. She is now employed as a nurse in the operating room. She continues to work part-time in our billing department.
She is a member of the Association of Operating Room Nurses, she enjoys spending time at the beach and with her cats.
